Are LCD TV's Better Than Plasma

When it comes to buying a brand new television everybody is wanting the biggest and best that money can buy and that leaves up with the most debated question in recent years for their home entertainment system.

What Television is better, a LCD or a Plasma?

Well that all depends on who you ask, if you are asking a person who uses their television for gaming and HD movies and TV then a plasma is better, but if you are asking someone who just wants a big clear picture then a LCD TV is better. It just depends on the person.

So how do you decide which one is best for you?

Deciding which TV is best for you is really up to you, but these few things will help you pick the best one.

First of all if you are buying a TV there must be a reason behind it and that could tell you which TV is best without diving any deeper into it. For example if you are buying a TV because you just want to sit at home and watch the news or basic television then a LCD TV would be best for you. The reason a LCD TV is best is because it is cheaper, they last longer, and for things like basic TV or watching a movie every once and a while it just isn't worth it to spend the extra money on something that you won't get the full benefit out of.

One of the things I have noticed with people when they buy a TV is they don't even bother to consider what you are going to use the TV for, you just want a new one that is a flat panel. Even though choosing a flat panel is proven to be better for the environment you still want to know just what you are getting into.

Don't be like those people who are only buying a LCD or Plasma because your friend has one, sometimes people have a certain TV for a reason. For instance I have a 5 monitor computer station but that doesn't mean my best friend needs to upgrade his weak single monitor to catch up, it just doesn't make any sense for him to do that. This is the same logic you need to use when picking out your new TV.

And now the reason to buy a Plasma TV

The only reason I see that it is a good idea to buy a Plasma TV is if you plan to play a lot of video games or watch a lot of HD videos. The reason I say this is because games like to have the clearest picture in order to play better and people who watch a lot of movies like to have the movie theater experience in their home.

Whichever TV you decide to buy just be sure that you know what you are getting yourself into. There are benefits and drawbacks of each and all of which you need to be fully aware of prior to purchasing your brand new TV.
